System and comprehensive mode is taken in Chinese teaching. The class designed to provide student-centered learning aims to develop verbal communication skills. Teachers take flexible teaching method. In order to match different learning time and different teaching intensity, the university provides courses which are diversity and practical. The University also offers various courses to meet students¡¯ needs. Students at different levels can select the preliminary¡¢intermediate¡¢advanced courses with great flexibility according to their own interest. After finishing one term¡¯s study, students can re-select their courses.
I. Chinese Training Courses
(I)Preliminary Chinese Training Courses
Applicable object:
A. For students starting from the very beginning
B. For students having learned Pinyin and mastered about 200 words
C. For students having learned Chinese and mastered about 600 words
Teaching Objectives:
i. For students of category A, after finishing one school-year¡¯s study, they are supposed to have a vocabulary of 1900-2100 words and complete the grammar study at the preliminary phase.
ii. For students of category B, after finishing one school-year¡¯s study, they are supposed to have a vocabulary of 2200-2400 words and finish learning the grammar of the preliminary phase and basic lexical usage.
iii. For students of category C, after finishing one school-year¡¯s study, they are supposed to have a vocabulary of 2800-3000 words and finish learning the grammar of the preliminary phase and part of the grammar and vocabulary of the intermediate phase.
Term and Credit Hours: The first term will last for 18 weeks; the second 18 weeks, altogether for 36 weeks (one school-year). There are 18-20 credit hours of lectures per week, altogether 648-720 credit hours.

(II)Intermediate Chinese Training Courses
Applicable object:
D. For students having mastered about 2000 words
E. For students having mastered about 3000 words
Teaching Objectives:
i. For students of category D, after finishing one school-year¡¯s study, they are supposed to have a vocabulary of 4500 words or so and finish learning the grammar and lexical usage of the intermediate phase.
ii. For students of category E, after finishing one school-year¡¯s study, they are supposed to have a vocabulary of 6000 words or so and finish learning the grammar and lexical usage of the intermediate phase and part of the grammar and vocabulary of the advanced phase.
Term and Credit Hours: The first term will last for 18 weeks; the second 18 weeks, altogether for 36 weeks (one school-year). There are 12-20 credit hours of lectures per week, altogether 432-720 credit hours.

(III)Advanced Chinese Training Courses
Applicable object:
F. For students having mastered about 4500 words.
Teaching Objectives: After finishing one school-year's study, they are supposed to have a vocabulary of 8000 words or so and vocabulary¡¢discourse¡¢rhetoric of the advanced phase.
Term and Credit Hours: The first term will last for 18 weeks; the second 18 weeks, altogether for 36 weeks (one school-year). There are 12-18 credit hours of lectures per week, altogether 432-720 credit hours.
